Service and Restoration

Groups and individuals interested in contributing to the restoration of the Wai'anae forest ecosystem, protection of Pālehua's cultural heritage and other stewardship projects are invited to inquire about opportunities such as seed gathering, alien weed control, fence construction, and planting native species.

Typically, participants in service projects are also provided access to hiking trails or other recreational assets. Depending on the group and the nature of the service project, overnight lodging might be arranged.

Regular opportunities to care for and hike on the mountain are also offered by the nonprofit Friends of Honouliuli.
